We Write the Narrative – By ALIGNING UNDER GOD’S KINGDOM AGENDA – VISION
Matthew 4: 17, 23-25 – 17 From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.”
23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people. 24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them. 25 Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis,[g] Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.
TODAY’S QUOTE: the Kingdom of God is “God’s people in God’s place under God’s rule.” (Graeme Goldsworthy)
WHAT IS A KINGDOM? (Myles Munroe)
The governing influence of a king over a territory impacting it with the king’s culture, and practices. In a kingdom you dress like the king, eat what the king eats, speak like the king.
Nation of people ruled by a king.
A community of people with a distinct culture.
So when you say you follow Jesus you have no rights.
In a democracy you never worship the leaders.
Only in kingdom is the word lord used.
Lord = adonai in Hebrew; owner or master.
When we say Jesus is my Lord we mean Jesus is my owner.
It is not a religious word but a political word.
Romans 10: 9 – 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. .
Your body is not yours.
You are not your own.
We are examining our individual and collective kingdom assignments through the values, vision, and mission God has given us at Quinn Chapel.
I-94 & I-57
One can travel one lane over from the correct lane and when the separation of the two highways occurs, the wrong direction is taken for the journey. But, when in correct lane when the separation happens the correct direction is taken for the journey.
This idea applies to our church, personal life, profession, marriage, and family. We can be aligned in some areas of our lives and in the church while not being aligned in other areas of our lives or in the operation of the church. We are aligning ourselves with God’s kingdom program, making sure we are in the correct lane for the journey God has us on. Every Sunday morning we gather for worship, we need to make sure we review God’s kingdom plan and recalibrate our direction to insure we are following God’s path for the church and our individual lives.

We invite you experience rebirth and unity through Jesus Christ
Acts 26: 13-19 – 13 About noon, King Agrippa, as I was on the road, I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, blazing around me and my companions. 14 We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic,[a] ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’
15 “Then I asked, ‘Who are you, Lord?’
“ ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ the Lord replied. 16 ‘Now get up and stand on your feet. I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen and will see of me. 17 I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them 18 to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’
19 “So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven.
Paul’s vision on the road to Damascus became the captivating force behind his success. The apostle teaches us the power of a vision.
VISION – A vision is a clear comprehensive “photograph” of a person or an organization at some point in the future. It provides direction because it describes what the person or organization needs to be like, to be successful within the future.
Vision is not about “doing” but “being”
Think – God’s PROCESS, God’s PROMISE, God’s PASSION. We live in the inspiration of Holy Spirit’s vision for our lives.
We cannot succeed in achieving a vision; we must live in the inspiration of it until it accomplishes itself
Vision is not accomplished – Genesis 16: 1-15 – Abram, Sarai, Hagar. If we attempt on our power we produce problems and not the promise.
VISION (optical) – the special sense by which the qualities of an object… constituting its appearance are perceived through a process in which light…is transformed and transmitted to the brain.
For there to be vision there must be light.
What we see in the light shapes our thinking
How God Conveys Vision –
God is supernatural and will through supernatural means, give you God’s vision for your life! Holy Spirit is the giver of vision.
Vision Brings Victory
Acts 26: 13 & 19 – 13 About noon, King Agrippa, as I was on the road, I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, blazing around me and my companions… 19 “So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the vision from heaven.
God’s vision for Paul accomplished a number of things (Maxwell Leadership Bible):
It stopped him.
Vision allows us to see ourselves. We see things not as they are, but as we are.
(story of two traveling salesmen asking man what next town was like. He asked how each found the people in the last town. After each replied, even though their assessments were opposite of each other’s, he told them that is how you will find the people of the next town).
Whatever we see in our minds is what we experience. What you see is what you get!
It sent him.
Vision allows us to see others.
We feel compelled to act.
It strengthened him.
Vision enables us to continue despite struggles and lack of resources.
Tough times. Jacob in Gen. 32:1-9. “Lord, you said…”
It stretched him.
Vision gives us conviction to stand,
Confidence to speak,
Compassion to share.
It satisfied him.
Obedience to vision motivates us to act.
It fulfills us.
