The Daniel Fast 2016

Hello Quinn Chapel AME Church Congregation,

After much prayer and taking in the concerns of those wanting to participate in the fast and being faithful to this process, we will do a Progressive Fast. 

Everyone participating in the Daniel Fast should follow the Main Guidelines of Foods to Include on a weekly basis: All Fruits, Vegetables, Whole Grains, All Nuts and Seeds, Legumes, Quality Oils, Water, and Other Products listed to be consumed during this 42 Day Fast.  Week by week we will take away foods listed under the Avoid Column on the Daniel Fast for the next six weeks.  This means that as each week progresses into another, you will eliminate what’s listed starting from Week 1 and all the way to the end (i.e. Week 1 + 2 + 3 etc.).  So let’s get started!

Avoid Eating: Week 1 – All Sweeteners, Beverages, and Solid Fats         

                         Week 2 – All Meat and Animal Products

                         Week 3 – All Diary Products

                         Week 4 – All Leavened Bread

                         Week 5 – All Refined and Processed Food Products

                         Week 6 – Continue FULL FAST 

I pray that as we use this time of prayer and fasting to consecrate ourselves to be transformed that you stay encouraged and be accountable to one another.  Remember, the Fast Begins ASH WEDNESDAY, February 18th (Wednesday to Wednesday is 1 Week) and Ends Wednesday, April 1st!!!  Let’s get ready to go to Another Level in Christ!
