Please allow me today to deviate from our typical approach to the gospel and use our time together today to make a heartfelt expression of gratitude to those members of the Body of Christ here at Quinn Chapel who are seasoned saints. By engaging the Scripture read earlier, we get a picture of how God has been working in the lives of those of us who are 60 years and older. The “Baby Boomer” generation is the second largest population group in America, second only to Millennials. When combined with the “Silent Generation” and the “Greatest Generation” they comprise the largest portion of the current population.
Let’s take a look through the Scriptures at what happened when two millennials took their baby to church. What we’ll find is a description of how God has been using you here in Quinn Chapel to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and to build the kingdom.
A one reads the Book of Acts, one finds that God the Holy Spirit establishes and expands the Church using signs, wonders, and miracles as ways of calling people’s attention to the move of God happening in their lives. In today’s society the hearts and minds of people are so drawn away from the Person of God by all the distractions presented in this Information Age, that God the Holy Spirit is making God’s self known through supernatural means.View Sermon
We developed the practice of speaking prophetically a word of wisdom or a word of knowledge through Rev. HaLana’s teaching a few weeks ago. We are not going to learn to apply the prophetic in sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with others.View Sermon
The Resurrection Power of the Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is the same power that is available and at work in me and you. When Jesus commissioned the twelve and the seventy-two, He gave them the authority and power to do all He had demonstrated before them. This “Season of Holy Spirit Activation” is an out-pouring of God’s Spirit on Quinn Chapel.View Sermon

So it is with the “African Presence in the Bible.” Their presence and significance is as real the very lives they lived. Awareness of their achievements has been made known as we write the narrative using the very story of God’s interaction with humankind, the Bible!View Sermon
Christian Brothers & Sisters of African Descent,
WE WRITE THE NARRATIVE! Let us no longer allow negative news reports, degrading music, and derogatory depictions in television shows, movies, and music videos to be the narrative describing our identity and value as human beings.
For us to write the narrative of our past, our present, and our future, we must first know God. We must know the God of Jethro (Reuel) the Cushite (Black) priest of Midian and father of Zipporah, the Cushite wife of Moses. We must know the God of Simon the African who carried the cross for Jesus.View Sermon
